Check farm programmes in advance. Each farm lists its activities and schedules on the Open Farm Days website. Planning ahead helps you get the most out of your visit.
Be respectful and follow local guidance. Hosts set the tone: park where they ask, rest where allowed, follow paths, and use their waste disposal arrangements.
Be sure to bring a good mood and a curious mind. Ask questions and discover what life is like in the countryside and how Estonian food is grown.
Leave pets at home, if possible. It is better for both the farm animals and your furry friend. But if you must bring a pet, please call the farm in advance and discuss it with the hosts.
Capture the moment. Take photos and share them on Instagram or the Open Farm Days Facebook page using the hashtag #openfarms.
Dress for the farm and the weather. Bring rain boots and waterproof clothes on rainy days.
Do not feed the farm animals. Animals should only eat the food provided for them. If you want to offer something, check with the hosts first.
Bring cash. Most visits are free, but some activities may have a small fee. Many farms also sell delicious local food or handmade products.
Bring your own cup and utensils. This helps reduce plastic waste and protect the environment.
Quality over quantity. Do not rush from farm to farm. Take your time, enjoy the fresh air, and appreciate the farms that welcome visitors despite their busy schedules.
